How Global Warming can lead to Cold Weather Storms

Large storms occur when warm moist air from the tropics meets cold air from the polar regions.

When the earth gets warmier, there is more energy in the atmosphere, and as the oceans get warmer, more water is evaporated into the atmosphere. Warmer, more moist air meeting cold polar air leads to more turbulent weather conditions like large violent storms.

Storms generate high winds which can bring cold air from the polar regions into the temperate areas thousands of miles from the polar areas.
