What Does It Mean to “Electrify” Your Home?

Electrification of a home means to convert all energy usage to electricity. For most people it means converting a gas stove to an electric stove and a water heater to an electric one. For space heating it means using an electric heat pump instead of a gas heater. If you have an older air conditioner, you can replace it with a “dual” heat pump which can “pump” heat in both directions. It can pump heat OUT of your home to cool it during the summer and pump heat INTO your home to warm it during the winter.
